ACLS Course Description

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.

Per the AHA, "The ACLS Provider Course does not teach algorithms, ECG rhythm recognition, or pharmacology. If you do not learn and understand the ECG and pharmacology information in the Precourse Self-Assessment, it is unlikely that you can successfully complete the ACLS Provider Course."

YOU MUST COMPLETE the PRE-COURSE SELF-ASSESSMENT with greater than 80% in each section AND BRING YOUR PRINTED SCORE WITH YOU to the class.

 

BLS Course Description

The purpose of the Basic Cardiac Life Support course is to convey the proper sequence and application of Basic Cardiac Life Support techniques. This course will emphasize standard assessment and application skills as recommended by the American Heart Association, International Guidelines for Emergency Cardiac Care. Upon completion of this course, an AHA BLS (CPR) card will be issued signifying attainment of the skill level which each individual participant has obtained.

Some important notes:

• Each person needs to register individually. We are able to offer CEs for you, but you MUST enter your correct license number in the registration page.
• The registration default in our system adds a textbook to the course. If you do not want this, you must be de-selected or you will need to pay for it to complete the registration process.
• You MUST read your confirmation email.
• ALL ACLS students MUST complete the online Self-Assessment with an 80% or higher in each section. They must print and bring their scores to the class. This will increase their likelihood of success in the skills stations and written exam.
• For those taking BLS as well, you will be emailed a link to a study page and you will complete the skills and written portion for BLS after the completion of the ACLS Course.
